The Science
The Formula
A multi-acid treatment formula refined over eight decades — and the reason it works so profoundly differently from anything else available for home use.
Overview
The Skin Culture Peel is built around a core combination of Resorcinol, Salicylic Acid, and Phenol — three clinically proven exfoliating agents united in a thick, occlusive cream base. This combination is deliberately engineered to trigger deep cellular shedding over multiple days of consecutive application, producing results that cannot be replicated by a single-session treatment.
Category 1 Active Exfoliating Agents
A powerful keratolytic agent that dismantles the bonds holding hardened, damaged skin cells together.
- Principal component of professional Jessner peels
- Directly targets hyperpigmentation and stubborn acne marks
- Breaks down uneven surface texture
- Accelerates detachment and shedding of dead epidermal layers
An oil-soluble Beta Hydroxy Acid that penetrates deep into the pore lining to dissolve sebum and clear blockages.
- Uniquely effective for congested and oily skin types
- Calms the inflammation that drives persistent acne
- Reaches areas water-soluble acids cannot penetrate
- Works synergistically with Resorcinol and Phenol
A deep chemical exfoliant that removes damaged outer epidermal layers and stimulates rapid tissue renewal.
- Kept below 2% concentration for safe home use
- Accelerates cellular turnover without systemic risk
- Works alongside Resorcinol for deep resurfacing
- At full clinical strength requires medical administration — this formula does not
A well-documented dermatological ingredient prized for its antimicrobial and oil-controlling properties.
- Dries and absorbs excess sebum
- Reduces surface bacteria on the skin
- Helps clear active blemishes during treatment
- Particularly effective for acne-prone and breakout-susceptible skin
Delivers natural antiseptic and antibacterial benefits that protect the skin's compromised barrier during resurfacing.
- Guards vulnerable new skin as outer layers shed
- Provides microbial defence during the active treatment period
- Works in tandem with Eucalyptus Oil for barrier protection
Calms localised inflammation associated with the peeling process and contributes the formula's characteristically fresh, clinical scent.
- Cooling and anti-inflammatory on application
- Makes the 90-minute application window more comfortable
- Contributes the formula's distinctive clinical aroma
A traditional dermatological ingredient with a long clinical history in managing chronic skin conditions including psoriasis and eczema.
- Primary role is anti-pruritic — reduces itching during shedding
- Soothes the discomfort that is a natural part of the peel process
- Long established in clinical dermatology
Works in complementary synergy with Salicylic Acid in the formula, providing mild topical soothing at the application site.
- Counter-irritant properties moderate heat and tightness
- Reduces the sensation of acid-induced resurfacing activity
- Reinforces the soothing effect of the botanical compounds
Category 2 Ointment Base & Preservatives
Together these form the thick, occlusive ointment texture that is fundamental to the treatment's mechanism.
- Seals active acids in contact with skin during each 90-minute session
- Ensures maximum penetration depth
- Delivers sustained exfoliating action that wash-off products cannot replicate
- Critical to the deep resurfacing results
Acts as the emollient component of the base, preventing excessive moisture loss while the outer epidermis dries and prepares to shed.
- Maintains controlled moisture balance throughout the process
- Helps achieve clean, even peeling rather than irregular shedding
- Works alongside Lanolin and Beeswax to form the occlusive base
Serves as the formula's stabilising preservative, preventing microbial contamination throughout the product's shelf life.
- Ensures biological activity of active ingredients stays consistent
- Maintains formula integrity from first to last application
The Mechanism
Six days. One transformation.
Application Phase
The treatment cream is applied once daily for two to four consecutive days, depending on the chosen strength. Each application lasts 90 minutes before being removed. The occlusive base holds the active acids in sustained contact with the skin throughout each session.
Shedding Phase
Once the application days are complete, the Normalizer Cream is used to begin the six-day shedding process. The outer layers of treated skin progressively dry, tighten, and shed — revealing the new epidermal tissue forming beneath.
Renewal
The fresh skin revealed after shedding has undergone deep cellular renewal. Hyperpigmentation, acne marks, and surface irregularities are substantially reduced. Texture, tone, and clarity are visibly and measurably improved — typically within one complete treatment cycle.
