About the Peel
What the Skin Culture Peel is, its history and active ingredients.
The Skin Culture Peels are home skin peeling treatments that help rejuvenate the skin surface. They create an even and controlled shedding of several layers of skin cells. This allows new layers to be exposed and creates a fresh appearance to the skin surface. In addition, new cells and collagen are stimulated, creating a more even skin tone.
Learn how the peel works βSince 1937 β over 88 years. The formula was originated and developed by a New York doctor and pharmacist. Originally formulated as a treatment for acne and spots, it has proven to significantly improve large pores, oily skin, uneven skin tone, wrinkles, blackheads, hyperpigmentation and sun damage. It has been used by over a million men and women worldwide with excellent, measurable results.
These unique treatments are designed to improve overall skin appearance and can help address a wide range of concerns, including acne marks, blemishes, spots and pimples, fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, blackheads, enlarged pores, sun damage, uneven skin tone, razor rash, and other complexion irregularities.
The active ingredients are Resorcinol, Salicylic Acid and Phenol. While some chemical peels feature just one of these ingredients alone, our unique formulation combines all three powerful exfoliators into a multi-acid peeling solution suitable for all skin types and skin problems.
In addition, the treatment contains the oils of Thyme, Eucalyptus and Wintergreen β long recognised in natural healing science as effective holistic healing agents for many skin problems.
This triple-acid formula has been used by over a million men and women of all ages and skin tones with excellent, measurable results since 1937.
There are three strengths of Skin Culture Peel. Peel 4000 (deep peel), Peel 3000 (medium peel), and Peel 2000 (light peel). All Skin Culture Peels take six days to complete.
The strength of the Skin Culture Peel you choose determines how deeply it worksβstronger peels exfoliate more layers of dead skin, resulting in more noticeable improvements in your skinβs appearance.
Treatment Process
What happens during the 6-day treatment cycle, day by day.
Most customers continue working throughout the treatment. Days 1β4 involve some redness and skin tightening, which most people manage comfortably. The most noticeable stage is days 5β7 when visible peeling begins β some customers prefer to work from home during this period, while others go about their normal routine. The peeling is most visible around the eyes and mouth first, and many customers find that loose skin can be carefully trimmed with nail scissors rather than pulled. If you have an unavoidable social event, it is worth timing your treatment to start on a day that gives you maximum flexibility during the final days.
During the 6-day application process, the unique and safe formula of the Skin Culture Peel removes dead skin progressively.
- Day 1: The skin will become slightly tanned after the first application.
- Day 2: The skin will feel tight as the formula begins to work.
- Day 3: The skin takes on a healthy, robust look β darker in colour and slightly wrinkled. This is completely normal.
- Days 4β6: Peeling starts around the eyes and mouth, then the chin, cheeks and forehead.
Peeling may continue beyond day 6. The complexion will continue to improve as old skin is replaced by new skin that is tighter, smoother and younger-looking. Thick or toughened skin may flake rather than peel and a second or stronger peel may be needed.
Read real treatment diaries βThere will be a hot stinging sensation lasting for 15β20 minutes after the peeling formula is applied. This is completely normal and expected.
It is recommended to relax, watch television, listen to the radio or read during this time. Fanning the face will help to relieve any discomfort by up to 75%. The sensation subsides fully after around 20 minutes.
Some individuals feel only a warm tingling, while others feel a more intense stinging. The more you feel the treatment, the better the results tend to be.
No. In our 88-year history, the application of our product has never caused the skin to break because it has never peeled below the epidermis β the top layers of the skin.
The dead skin will gently peel away from the new skin underneath without discomfort or blistering. The treatment is specifically formulated to remain within the epidermis, making it safe for at-home use.
Yes, targeted areas can be treated. However, we generally recommend performing a full-face peel, as it is just as simple to apply and helps ensure a more even, consistent skin tone across the entire face.
Safety & Suitability
Who can use the peel, patch testing, allergies and skin types.
Yes. The Skin Culture Peel has been safely used by over a million men and women for over 88 years. The treatment is FDA registered and will not penetrate below the epidermis, so it does not cause breaking or blistering of the skin.
As with all skincare treatments, there is a small possibility of reacting to some ingredients. Very rarely will a customer have an allergic reaction β symptoms may include itching, redness and stinging lasting a few days.
We always recommend performing a patch test for a full 6 days under the chin before doing a full facial treatment.
Not usually. Those allergic to aspirin or resorcinol should not use this product.
A patch test is always recommended prior to the full facial peel. This test should be performed under the chin area for the full six days to determine whether you are sensitive to any of the ingredients.
Most customers with sensitive skin complete the treatment without issue. If you are unsure, please contact us before ordering β we are happy to advise.
Contact us for advice βYes. Men and women of all ages and skin tones β from fair to very dark β can enjoy a fresher, clearer, younger-looking complexion with the Skin Culture Peel.
The treatment will not make the user lighter or darker than they naturally are. It will help return their skin to its natural tone and texture. In addition to improving complexion, a Skin Culture Peel will help address most skin problems β from brown spots to sun damaged skin and acne scarring.
Not suitable for: those allergic to aspirin or resorcinol. Always perform a patch test first.
Take the skin assessment quiz βUse as often as needed, though typically once a month is recommended for deeper skin concerns. All Skin Culture Peels are designed with safety in mind, so even the strongest option, the Skin Peel 4000, can be used monthly to help achieve your desired results.
Results & Expectations
What the peel will and won't do, and how long results last.
You should see a noticeable improvement with any peel strength. Most customers achieve their desired results with a Peel 3000 or Peel 4000.
The Skin Culture Peel will:
- Noticeably improve the skin's texture
- Even the skin colouring and tone
- Help to remove hyperpigmentation and dark spots
- Help improve fine lines and rough textures
- Help repair sun-damaged skin
- Help remove acne scarring and blemishes
The Skin Culture Peel will not:
- Remove deep wrinkles
- Remove pitted scarring or acne pocks
- Take the place of a facelift
The ideal candidate is someone looking for genuine, measurable improvement β not perfection.
Compare peel strengths βThe Skin Culture Peel will not stop the ageing process, but it will create a fresher tone and healthier appearance that lasts for a significant time.
For severe problems, the stronger treatments are recommended and can be repeated as often as necessary to maintain and improve your appearance. Many customers complete 2β3 treatments per year as part of their ongoing skin maintenance routine.
No. However, itβs important to understand that a facelift does not improve the condition of the skin itself. The appearance of your skin plays a key role in achieving a more youthful look. If you are considering a facelift, it is often beneficial to undergo a skin peel first to enhance the overall result.
The collagen present in the face is largely lying dormant. When you have a skin peel you increase, excite and stimulate the flow of collagen. This helps to bring about a more youthful-looking complexion and improved skin tone.
The increased collagen flow will also help to improve the appearance of fine red lines on the nose and face, and contribute to firmer, plumper-looking skin over time.
Results depend on the type of skin concern, how long it has been present, and how deeply it affects the skin. For example, more severe acne scarring may require more than one treatment. As every individualβs skin is different, results and response to the peel can vary.
